Two people killed in Meigs County auto accident

GALLIPOLIS — Two people were killed Wednesday in a three-vehicle accident in Meigs County, the Gallipolis Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

Ethan Rose, 17. of Middleport, and passenger Kimberly Roush, 51, also of Middleport, were pronounced dead at the scene at State Route 7 and Bradbury Road, the patrol said. The accident happened shortly before 3 p.m.

A 2018 Jeep Renegade driven by Rose was going west on Bradbury Road where Rose failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck by a 2000 Sterling dump truck driven by John Eberts, 66, of Hamden, Ohio, the patrol said. Everts was traveling north on Route 7.

Both vehicles then struck a 2000 Toyota Camry driven by Kara Klein, 22, the patrol said. Klein and a passenger, Joshua Sobieski, and Eberts sustained minor injuries and were taken to Holzer Medical Center in Pomeroy for treatment, the patrol said.

Route 7 was closed for three hours, the patrol said. The crash remains under investigation.

Responding agencies were the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office, Meigs County EMS, Middleport Fire Department, Meigs County ODOT, Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home, Meigs County Coroner, High Road Towing, 1 Response Towing and Westfall Towing.
