Washington County Board of Elections completes vote canvass

MARIETTA -- The Washington County Board of Elections held its canvass Monday for the May 6 primary election in Washington County, with no changes in results.
Board of Elections Director Mandy Amos said there were 59 provisional ballots total in the county and the canvass board approved 48 of them Monday, she said.
A few final vote tallies were changed, but no race saw a change in its results, Amos said.
The ballots which could not be counted were mostly due to voters not being registered, having no identification or having expired identification, she said.
Amos said the primary election went smoothly, with no issues or technical problems to report. As it does with every election, the board will conduct an audit on May 28, she said.
