PARKERSBURG – Two people are dead following a multi-vehicle accident Tuesday evening along U.S. 50.

The Wood County Sheriff’s Office responded around 7:30 p.m. to mile marker 7 along U.S. 50, according to the department’s Facebook page.

Gregory Nightengale of Proctorville, Ohio was pronounced dead at the scene and Veronica Yoho of Monaca, Pa. was transported to WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center and pronounced dead shortly thereafter, according to a Facebook post from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office this afternoon.

Nightingale and Yoho were traveling in the same vehicle. Three people in another vehicle were also taken to the hospital, the post said.

A cause of the accident has not been announced.
