PARKERSBURG — The Wood County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports from March 11-13:

March 11

* A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle on East Seventh Street and a citation was issued to Jerome Lee Blackwell, 47, of Emerson Avenue, for third-offense driving on suspended/revoked.

* Deputies responded to Meadville Road in reference to multiple gun shots being heard coming from a residence. Upon arriving and knocking on the door the subjects were warned of shooting within 500 feet of a residence and further recommended not to handle firearms while intoxicated as it appeared all three were. The 911 caller was notified and advised to call back if the shooting continued. Approximately three minutes later deputies were advised that the shooting again started and returned. Upon arrival the deputies overheard the three occupants discussing how many rounds each person was going to shoot. At this time one of the male subjects appeared on the back porch taking aim with a rifle as the deputies confronted him yelling “Sheriff’s Office drop the gun.” All three were taken into custody, Landon Nile Flinn, 25, of Meadville Road, for conspiracy and firing within 500 feet of a dwelling, Bret Garrison Primm, 25, of Meldahl Road, for conspiracy and Lindsey Dawn Jones, 30, of Berry Patch Lane, for conspiracy. All three were transported to the Holding Center for processing and placed pending their arraignment.

* Deputies responded to Washington Gardens Circle in reference to a third party report of a domestic disturbance in progress. Deputies spoke with both the male and female at the residence with the female showing bruising to her eye stating she had been struck in the eye during an altercation. Briand Andrew Sears Jr., 24, of Washington Garden Circle, was arrested for a charge of domestic battery. He was transported and processed at the Holding Center, arraigned before a magistrate where he was unable to post bond and confined back into the Holding Center.

* A deputy responded to the area of Viscose Road in reference to a brush fire. Upon arrival Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department was already on scene putting out the fire. A male stated he was helping his mother by removing some unwanted plants in the yard and did not realize that the wind had picked up. The West Virginia Division of Forestry and DNR arrived on scene issuing the male citations.

* Deputies responded to U.S. 50 westbound in reference to a vehicle on fire. Dispatch advised that the vehicle was somewhere after the W.Va. 68 exit and before DuPont Road Exit, it was located near the 2.5 mm westbound fully engulfed. Deputies assisted with traffic control as the Blennerhassett Volunteer Fire Department put the fire out. The driver stated that he had just purchased the Ford F-350 from an auction house in Wooster, Ohio, on March 7 and that on this day while driving the truck started to run bad and was backfiring while driving. He pulled over to check under the hood and noticed flames coming out from under the truck. All paperwork for the truck was inside on the front seat which had burned up. The truck was removed from the scene.

March 12

* A citation was issued to Hitesh Bhanubhai Patel, 49, of Cleveland, Ohio, for speeding (100 in a 70 mph zone).

* A citation was issued to Joelle Jeanine Rsheed, 40, of 13th Avenue, Vienna, for expired registration and given a verbal warning on expired MVI and failure to change address.

* A deputy while sitting stationary in a marked cruiser observing traffic on U.S. 50 eastbound observed a vehicle believed to be traveling greater than the posted 65 mph limit (radar confirmed). Emergency lights and siren were activated and began traveling behind the vehicle which continued despite having opportunities to pull to the right hand side on the berm of the roadway. The vehicle then yielded and pulled to the right hand berm near the 9.5 mm east of the Seventh Street exit ramp. Upon contact with the driver the deputy detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his person. Timothy James Metz, 57, of Hadley Lane, Marietta, was arrested on charges of DUI, speeding and no proof of insurance. He was transported and processed at the Holding Center and placed pending his arraignment. The dog in the vehicle was picked up by a friend and the vehicle was towed.

* A citation was issued to Camden Richard Hawkins, 20, of 55th Street, Vienna, for speeding (83 in a 65 mph zone).

* A deputy responded to Elizabeth Pike in reference to assisting a motorist with traffic control. Upon arrival the vehicle was observed sitting in the lane of travel with the driver stating that he was northbound coming up the rise when his right front ball joint broke and caused the wheel to lay flat dragging the ground. He had already called for a wrecker, the deputy assisted with traffic control until it was towed away.

* A deputy while stationary in a marked cruiser observing northbound and southbound traffic on I-77 in the area of the 178 mm noted a vehicle northbound traveling at a speed appearing to be greater than the posted 70 mph limit (radar confirmed). The vehicle passed and a traffic stop was conducted. A citation was issued to Robert Lee Franklin, 33, of Courtney Ridge Road, Elizabeth, for speeding (87 in a 76 mph zone).

March 13

* A deputy while traveling westbound on W.Va. 95 entering the proper flashing 40 mph school zone for Fairplains School noted two vehicles in front of him, the first properly slowing approaching the school zone and the other changed lanes to the left lane and accelerated. A traffic stop was conducted and a citation was issued to Julie Ailes Miller, 61, of Mount Zion, for speeding (54 in a 40 mph School zone) and she was advised on reckless driving.

* A citation was issued to Nathan Ezra Sego, 72, of Jacksonville, Fla., for expired registration.

* A traffic stop was conducted after the vehicle was observed failing to come to a stop at a stop sign at Blue Spruce Road and Red Hill Road. Upon contact with the driver and passenger the deputy detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle at which time a glass jar was handed to the deputy containing marijuana. A vehicle search was conducted with other items located. Jaden Tyler Brookover, 19, of Old Saint Mary’s Pike, was issued a citation for possession of marijuana and a citation was issued to Jordan L. McNeely, 33, of Pike Street, for possession of marijuana.

* A citation was issued to Cameron Woodell Cotter, 31, of Bridgeport, for speeding (74 in a 65 mph zone).

* A deputy sitting stationary observing southbound traffic I-77 in the area of the 175 mm observed a vehicle traveling southbound at a speed appearing to be greater than the posted 70 mph limit. A traffic stop was conducted and a citation was issued to Rudy Allen Gibson, 25, of 12th Street, Vienna, for driving on suspended/revoked and no insurance and he was given a verbal warning on speeding. The vehicle was towed and the driver got a ride home with a family member.

* Deputies responded to Gihon Road/South Street in reference to a warrant service. Deborah Lynn Martin, 59, of Gihon Road, was arrested on the warrant for sewage illegal disposal. She was transported and processed at the Holding Center where she was placed to await arraignment. The warrant was issued through the Health Department.

* A traffic stop was conducted on Emerson Avenue near Jesterville Road after it was observed to have an expired registration. The driver, Raymond Russell Genger, 33, of Camden Avenue, was issued a citation for driving on suspended/revoked and without evidence of registration. The passenger, Sean Anthony Richards, 41, of Avery Street, was arrested on a Capias for fishing without a license.

* A citation was issued to Michael Anthony Seevers, 52, of Latrobe Street, for expired MVI and given a verbal warning on speeding.

* A citation was issued to Austin Wayne Davis, 28, of Davis Lane, for driving on suspended/revoked and no insurance and given a verbal warning on defective equipment.
