Vehicle strikes Parkersburg home, injuries reported

PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Police Department was investigating a Wednesday evening accident in south Parkersburg involving a vehicle striking a residence.
On Wednesday at approximately 7:05 p.m., Parkersburg Police, along with other emergency personnel, responded to the 1500 block of Broadway Avenue following reports of a vehicle striking a residence, a press release said.
Preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling westbound on Broadway Avenue when the driver lost control. The vehicle crossed the center median, entered the eastbound lane, and ultimately collided with a residence in the 1500 block of Broadway Avenue.
At the time of the crash, a resident was inside the home and sustained what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. The resident was transported to a local medical facility for treatment. The driver of the vehicle also sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local medical facility, the release said.
The incident remains under active investigation. Further details will be provided as they become available.
