PARKERSBURG — Parkersburg Police officers responded Tuesday to a report of a suspicious individual on the property of the Parkersburg Soccer Club, in the 400 block of Buckeye Street.
Upon arrival, officers were informed the subject had entered a portable restroom on the premises. As officers approached the restroom, it was observed the individual was engaged in a lewd act, according to a Parkersburg Police Department press release.
Following further investigation, the subject was identified as Michael V. Naylor II, 54, who was determined to be homeless. It was discovered that Naylor had stolen a flag belonging to the soccer club, disassembled it, and affixed it to a bicycle he was riding, the release said.
During a search incident to arrest, officers found Naylor in possession of a specific type of marker, which had been used to write vulgar messages inside the portable restroom, the release said. As a result, he was taken into custody and charged with petit larceny and destruction of property.
Naylor was subsequently arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court and released on personal recognizance.
