Warren, Ohio, man killed in I-77 accident in Washington County

MARIETTA -- An Ohio man was killed Saturday afternoon in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 77 in Washington County, the Marietta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
A 2021 Freightliner Cascadia semi driven by Ernest E. Reiner, 53, of Warren was traveling north on the interstate when it veered into the median at milepost 12 in Salem Township, the patrol said. The truck went into the southbound lanes and went off the right side of the road, striking a guardrail and going over a hill, the patrol said.
Reiner was pronounced dead at the scene, the patrol said.
The accident happened around 3:35 p.m. The road was closed while emergency crews respond one southbound lane of Interstate 77 remained closed into the evening during the recovery of the vehicle, the patrol said.
The accident remains under investigation, however alcohol or drugs are not suspected to be a Responding agencies were the Highway Patrol and the Highway Patrol Crash Reconstruction Unit, the Salem Township Volunteer Fire Department, the Devola Volunteer Fire Department, the Washington County Sheriff's Office, the Ohio Department of Transportation and Westfall Towing.
