Ameri-Med Medical Waste Solution truck catches fire Thursday morning

PARKERSBURG – Firefighters from East Wood and Blennerhassett Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a fire Thursday morning in a box truck at the 7-Eleven at the intersection of Lake Washington Road and Harris Highway near Lubeck.

The driver of the Ameri-Med Medical Waste Solution box truck was getting ready to fuel the truck when someone noticed smoke coming from the cargo area. The driver moved the truck away from the pumps and waited for the fire department to arrive.

After extinguishing the fire, the firefighters removed the smoldering boxes from the truck.

Parkersburg firefighters also responded to the fire but returned after they were not needed.
