Akron woman facing fentanyl trafficking, possession charges in Washington County

MARIETTA — An Akron woman was recently charged with narcotics trafficking after a traffic stop on Ohio 821 by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the sheriff said.

On Wednesday, a detective on patrol observed the driver of a vehicle commit multiple traffic violations, Sheriff Mark Warden said in a release posted on the office’s website. The detective stopped the car on Ohio 821 in Muskingum Township where the driver, identified as Frances Nicholle White, 29, 1209 Juneau Ave., Akron, appeared nervous and fidgety, according to the release.

Timmy, a police dog, was used to conduct a free air sniff around the vehicle and gave a positive indication on the front driver’s door, according to Warden.

A glass smoking device was found while searching the vehicle and White was found to be in possession of a clear plastic bag with a white chunky substance concealed on her person, according to Warden. White also had concealed 47 grams of fentanyl, according to Warden.

White was arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail, charged with trafficking in fentanyl and possession of fentanyl, both first-degree felonies. She was incarcerated pending an initial appearance in Marietta Municipal Court.

She remains in jail after appearing in Municipal Court, according to jail records.
