PARKERSBURG — The following cases were handled in Wood County Magistrate Court on Jan. 8:

* Oleh Vashchyshyn, 2014 Baintree Court, Brunswick. Ohio, pleaded guilty to speeding (10 mph or less in excess on highway) and fined $181.48.

* Amanda Jane Sams, 825 7th St., Parkersburg, to shoplifting and fined $201.48. She was ordered to pay a $50 civil penalty to Rural King in Parkersburg.

* Brice Weston Lawson, 2614 Hugh St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to second-offense driving on a suspended license and fined $276.48.

* Merri Elizabeth Tibbs, 264 Maple Shades Court, Mineral Wells, pleaded guilty to driving on a suspended license and fined $276.48. A charge of having no proof of insurance was dismissed after proof was provided to the court.

* Allen James Hayes, 79 Wildwood Drive Apt. 104, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of reckless driving and having defective equipment and released on $500 bond.

* James Dewayne Thomas, 2212 36th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of third-offense driving on a suspended license and released on $500 bond.

* Charles Z. McCartney, 4301 10th Ave. Apt. 202A, Parkersburg, had a charge of operating a vehicle without an inspection certificate dismissed after proof was provided to the court.

* Wendy Sue Cains, 1202 Laird Ave., Parkersburg, had a preliminary hearing waived on three counts of forgery and uttering. The case was sent to Wood County Circuit Court.

* Scott Andrew Bland, Parkersburg, had a charge of third-offense domestic assault/battery dismissed without prejudice after the alleged victim failed to appear.

* Alicia Whisman, 3608 Camden Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to second-offense shoplifting, fined $276.48 and sentenced to 90 days in jail which was suspended and he was placed on one year of unsupervised probation. She was ordered to pay a $284.56 civil penalty to the Walmart store in Vienna. A charge of second-offense trespassing was dismissed, per a plea agreement.

* Stephanie Patricia Maggi, Parkersburg, had a charge of third-offense domestic assault/battery dismissed as Maggi was indicted on this charge by the grand jury in October.

* Lisa Renee Goodwin, 1104 39th St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to obstruction with threats of harm and fined $276.48.

* Tammy Lynn Piggott, 8829 Deerwalk Hwy, Waverly, pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle without an inspection certificate and fined $186.48. A charge of having no registration was dismissed, per a plea agreement.

* Marcus Ray Gamble Jr., c/o CRJ, 1255 Dyer Hill Road, Sutton, W.Va., pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription, keeping a dwelling for the use of a controlled substance, fined $352.96 and sentenced to six months in jail. A charge of possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription was dismissed, per a plea agreement.

* Andrew Scott Lasure, 111 Main St., New Matamoras, pleaded guilty to obstruction with threats of harm and fined $226.48. A charge of providing false information to officers was dismissed, per a plea agreement.

* Danielle Sue Kuhens, 2105 17th St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription, fined $176.48 and sentenced to 120 days in jail and placed on one year of unsupervised probation. A charge of keeping premises for unlawful controlled substance use was dismissed, per a plea agreement.

* Sabrina Forest Chapman, 111 South Fork Lane, Belleville, pleaded guilty to obstruction with threats of harm, public intoxication, fined $452.96 and sentenced to 90 days in jail which was suspended and he was placed on one year of unsupervised probation. Charges of fleeing from law enforcement and being a pedestrian on a highway and failing to walk on the left side facing traffic were dismissed, per a plea agreement.

* Michelle Denise Inman, 10545 Watts Road, Roseville. Ohio, pleaded guilty to DUI, obstruction with threats of harm, fined $567.96 and sentenced to 16 hours in jail which was ruled as time served.

* Jody Lynn McGee, 2607 New York Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to cruelty to animals (withholding medical treatment) and fined $476.48. Another charge of cruelty to animals (withholding medical treatment) was dismissed, per a plea agreement.

* April Michelle Trippett, 820 Lenore St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and fined $241.48. She was ordered to pay $554.28 civil penalty to the Walmart store in Vienna. A charge of joyriding was dismissed, per a plea agreement.

* Clarence Julius Smith, Parkersburg, had a charge of domestic battery dismissed without prejudice.

* Jeffrey Dale Farrow, 54783 State Rt. 681, Reedsville, had a charge of shoplifting dismissed.

* Heather Cheyenne Still, c/o 2108 Maxwell Ave., Parkersburg, had a charge of manufacture or possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver a Schedule I or II narcotic or meth dismissed without prejudice after the officer did not appear in court.
