PARKERSBURG -- Two suspects have been charged in a September shooting that injured a man in the Briarwood neighborhood
According to a post on the Wood County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, Joseph V. Turpin, 26, was arrested and is in custody.
The West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation lists him as being held without bond at the North Central Regional Jail in Doddridge County, and court records show he entered a plea of not guilty to robbery or attempted robbery on Nov. 7.
A second suspect, Rodney D. Hill, no age listed, is awaiting extradition from Ohio. Court records do not indicate his charge.
The sheriff's office reported in September that the shooting happened between Center Street and Meadowview Drive just off West Virginia 2 North. According to the department, during the incident, one person was shot in the leg with what they believed at the time was a handgun. The victim's injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, the office said at the time.
The sheriff's office post thanked members of the community for their assistance during the investigation.
A call seeking additional information was not returned Thursday.
