MUSKINGUM TWP. -- A Parkersburg man was arrested this month after a traffic stop led to the Washington County Sheriff's Office finding more than 200 grams of methamphetamine.

Travis Eugene Wiseman, 31, 712 30th St., Parkersburg, was arrested Dec. 7 and charged with one fist-degree felony count each of aggravated trafficking in drugs and trafficking in drugs, according to a Sheriff's Office media release issued Monday.

The charges stem from a traffic stop of a blue Subaru conducted by the Sheriff's Office on Dec. 7 in the 3000 block of Ohio 821 in Muskingum Township after the driver of the vehicle committed a traffic violation, the release said.

Sheriff's detectives made contact with the driver, Wiseman, who appeared to be nervous, the release said.

In response to a question from detectives, Wiseman stated he was coming from the westside of Columbus. The detectives deployed K-9 Timmy and he gave a positive indication on the vehicle, the release said.

"Wiseman was advised of his rights and he stated there was approximately 2-3 ounces of meth in the vehicle," the release said. "A search of the vehicle yielded 233 grams of methamphetamine."

That would equal more than 8 ounces.

Wiseman was arrested and processed into the Washington County Jail on Dec. 7, according to the release, and was arraigned Dec. 9 at Marietta Municipal Court.

Washington County Jail records show he is being held on a $200,000 bond. The case was bound over to the Washington County Court of Common Pleas on Dec. 11, according to municipal court records.
