Police report two injured in Wood County auto accident
PARKERSBURG — Two people were injured in a single vehicle accident Monday that was investigated by the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a press release on Facebook, deputies were dispatched Monday to the 23 mile marker on Robert Byrd Highway in reference to a single vehicle crash.
The investigation revealed that a 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Patrick Aumick was traveling eastbound on Robert Byrd Highway. Just past the Ritchie County line the Outlander ran off the roadway to the right behind a guardrail and flipped several times.
The passenger, Angeline Hill, was transported to WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center for injuries and released. Aumick was transported to Camden Clark by EMS and then life flighted to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown with serious injuries.
Responding agencies included the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Camden Clark EMS and the Deerwalk Volunteer Fire Department. Wood County was assisted by the Ritchie County Sheriff’s Office, Ritchie County EMS, Ellenboro and Cairo Volunteer Fire Departments.
