PARKERSBURG – A Parkersburg man died this morning in a single-vehicle accident.

According to a release from the Parkersburg Police Department, Wilson Noel, 20, was traveling west in the 2400 block of Gihon Road when his 2000 Buick LeSabre left the roadway, struck a utility pole and overturned.

Noel, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, succumbed to his injuries, the release said.

The Wood County Crash Team is investigating the accident, which happened at approximately 8:09 a.m. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor, the release said.

In addition to the Crash Team, the Parkersburg Fire Department and St. Joseph’s and Camden Clark ambulance services responded to the scene.
