Raese facing DUI charge in Monongalia County

MORGANTOWN — Booking information through the North Central Regional Jail and information from the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department indicates Morgantown businessman John Raese, president and CEO of Greer Industries and chairman of the board of West Virginia Radio Corp., was arrested Saturday by the sheriff’s department on a charge of driving under the influence with a blood-alochol level of 0.15 or higher.

The legal limit in West Virginia is 0.08.

Officials with the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department could not provide further details on Sunday, indicating more information would be available in the criminal complaint that was filed in Monongalia County Magistrate Court. Court offices are closed until today due to the Columbus Day holiday.

Raese previously ran as a Republican candidate multiple times for the U.S. Senate and once for governor of West Virginia.
