PARKERSBURG — One man is dead after a single-vehicle crash Monday morning at the 158-mile marker on Interstate 77, the Wood County Sheriff’s Office reported Monday in a press release.
A 2006 Nissan Altima was found resting against the cable barrier at mile marker 158 on the northbound lanes, the release said. The only person in the vehicle was Justin Hinzman, 43, Ravenswood, who was unresponsive, the release said.
A fire marshal and a Public Service Commission officer at the scene performed CPR on Hinzman, the release said.
“Despite life saving measures performed by those two men, another motorist and responding deputies, Justin was unable to be revived,” the sheriff’s office said in the release on Facebook.
Deputies responded at 6:19 a.m. Other agencies responding included the PSC, the Fire Marshal’s Office, Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department and Pond Creek Volunteer Fire Department and Camden Clark Ambulance Service.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, the release said.
