Juvenile facing charges after allegedly assaulting high school coach
VINCENT — An incident at Warren High School this week led to a former student facing assault charges.
The incident happened at approximately 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and involved a male juvenile who lives in close proximity to the school coming to the school’s grounds during football practice, according to Washington County Sheriff’s Office Major Brian Rhodes.
“He was there and he started yelling at some of the coaches and disrupting the practice,” Rhodes said.
He said the male juvenile struck a coach in the face and some other coaches restrained him and then released him after he had calmed down.
“He (then) continued to hit a couple of coaches,” Rhodes said.
The child is not currently a student at Warren High School as he had been expelled due to a previous incident, according to Rhodes.
He did not provide additional information about the expulsion.
The incident with the juvenile was an isolated incident, according to Rhodes.
“There’s no threat to the schools,” he said.
Three charges of assault against the juvenile have been forwarded to the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office, according to Rhodes.
