MARIETTA -- The Marietta Police Department is investigating a city employee for possible fuel theft.
The Marietta Police reported Tuesday the investigation began on Aug. 4 into fraudulent receipts for fuel reimbursement turned in by a city employee, according to a release from the police department.
A summons is being filed for theft, according to the release.
City officials said the employee was a laborer and the case is being handled through Marietta Municipal Court. The name of the employee has not been released.
