PARKERSBURG -- After over seven hours of testimony the Wood County Board of Education voted 5-0 Thursday night to not renew the probationary contract for Finance Director Justin Bosley.
Bosley had been in the position for a little over a year.
On April 12, 2023, the board voted 4-1, with board member Ron Tice dissenting, to approve Bosley as the new director of finance and treasurer, replacing former Finance Director Whitni Kines.
Bosley came before the board in August 2023 to ask for more staff to help with the workload his office was facing. At the time, the board approved the creation of a professional accountant, to change the position of Secretary III/Auditor/Buyer to Secretary III/Accountant III and to reinstate the position of the Assistant Director of Finance.
The board then approved Kaylee Litman as the assistant finance director in October 2023. She was voted the interim treasurer by the board on March 13, 2024. During the regular meeting of the board on Tuesday, they voted to adjust her pay rate to that of the Director of Finance as an additional duty assignment with step up pay from March 7, 2024, through June 30, 2024.
Board President Justin Raber said there will be a job posting for the position next week.
