Mid-Ohio Valley candidates release pre-primary campaign finance reports

PARKERSBURG -- The 11th District incumbent for the West Virginia House of Delegates has raised the most contributions from April 1 to April 29 among local legislative candidates, according to finance reports filed with the West Virginia Secretary of State.
Pre-primary reports were due May 3 and cover the month-long period prior to the May 14 primary election. All Republican incumbents for the House from Districts 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 representing Wood County are running unopposed for the party nomination for November. No Democrats filed to run in the primary in the 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th districts. Democrat Jim Marrion filed in the 14th District.
Delegate Vernon Criss, a Republican from the 12th District and chairman of the House Finance Committee, reported contributions for the period of $11,950, no expenditures, election year-to-date contributions of $56,364 and a balance of $56,264.
He listed contributions of less than $250 from the West Virginia Farm PAC, Curtis Wilkerson Jr. and Chris Hall, all totalling $450, $2,800 from the West Virginia Bankers PAC of Charleston, $1,400 from the Wet Virginia Hospital Association of Charleston, $1,000 each from the Iron Workers Local 787 in Parkersburg, RPAC of Charleston and Elevance Health PAC of Washington, D.C., and $500 each from the West Virginia Labor Caucus, GO PAC and Erie Insurance of Erie, Pa.
Delegate Scot Heckert, R-13th, reported contributions of $7,800 for the period, election-year-to-date contributions of $25,370, expenditures of $1,936 and a balance of $14,353.
He listed contributions of $250 or less from the United Mine Workers of America PAC, George K. Dettinger and L. Gil White, $1,800 each from the Parkersburg-Marietta Construction Building and Construction Trades PAC and Building and Construction Trades in Charleston, $1,000 each from the Ironworkers Local 787 of Parkersburg and the Operators Political Education Committee of Charleston and $500 each from American Electric Power, West Virginians for Coal and the West Virginia Republican Labor Caucus.
Eleventh District Delegate Bob Ferhrenbacher reported contributions of $3,500 for the period and an ending balance of $13,547. He reported no expenditures and year-to-date contributions of $14,103.
He reported a $100 contribution from Curtis Lee Wilkerson Jr., $1,400 from the West Virginia Hospital Association, $1,000 from Harry H. Esbenshade of Vienna and $500 each from the West Virginia Realtors PAC of Charleston and John Thomas of Vienna.
Incumbent Delegate Bill Anderson, R-10th, reported contributions of $100 for the reporting period, election-year-to date contributions of $33,940 and a cash balance of $19,995. He reported expenditures of $125.
The contribution of $100 was from the West Virginia Farm Bureau PAC.
Delegate Dave Foggin, R-14th, and Marion reported no contributions or expenditures for the period. Marion reported contributions of $105 for the election year-to-date.
A financial report from state Sen. Donna Boley, R-Pleasants, in the 3rd Senatorial District that includes Wood County, was not available on the online disclosure filing system.
