VIENNA -- Three local fire departments were dispatched to a fire at a residence on the 2400 block of 12th Avenue Tuesday morning.
Vienna Volunteer Fire Department Chief Steve Scholl said four residents and their dog were home at the time of the fire. All four residents escaped without injuries, but the dog was deceased.
Scholl said the call was received at 8:24 a.m. Units from Vienna, Williamstown VFD and Waverly VFD arrived within minutes. He estimated officials were on scene for about three hours to fight the fire. The Wood County Fire Investigation Task Force were also on scene.
Scholl said the house was deemed a total loss. Officials investigated the cause of the fire and determined it was electric in nature with a deep freezer located on the back porch as the source.
Camden Clark Ambulance Services were on scene to assess the condition of the residents. No injuries were reported and no one was sent to the hospital.
