One driver killed in three-vehicle accident in Wood County

PARKERSBURG -- A three-vehicle accident at the six mile marker of U.S. 50 Thursday has taken the life of one driver and sent another to the hospital, according to Wood County Sheriff Rick Woodyard.
The Wood County 911 Center said the initial call came in at 2:47 p.m. and that the Parkersburg Police Department, the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Parkersburg Fire and Rescue and Camden Clark and St. Joseph Ambulance all responded to the call.
Woodyard said a vehicle entered the entrance west a half mile from Division Street and struck the eastbound traffic head-on. He said the driver of that vehicle was killed in the accident. He said the other two vehicles were a passenger car and a tractor trailer.
He said a female passenger from the passenger vehicle was alert and transported to the Camden Clark emergency room and the driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured.
