GRANDVIEW TWP. - The Marietta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating an incident where a vehicle was located in flood waters on State Route 7 near mile post 45.
At approximately 7:35 a.m., the OSHP was notified that an individual, Isaac Harmon, 42, of New Matamoras, was missing. A vehicle matching the description of Harmon's was located on State Route 7, just north of Archers Fork Road, submerged in the flood waters.
Upon investigation, it was found to be a 1998 Dodge pickup, owned by Harmon. The vehicle was unoccupied upon arrival.
Local water rescue and dive teams were contacted for assistance. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office and the Marietta Fire Department dive teams arrived on scene and searched the area. At approximately 3:02 p.m. a body was located near the vehicle and it was identified as Harmon. He was pronounced deceased on scene.
Responding agencies included Ohio State Highway Patrol, Monroe County Sheriff's Office, Washington County Sheriff's Office, Marietta Fire Department and Little Muskingum Volunteer Fire Department.
No foul play is suspected and the investigation will continue.
