Society Hill Road in Wood County has been added to the repair list for today in Operation R.I.P. Potholes, the West Virginia Division of Highways said.

More local roads listed:

U.S. 33, W.Va. 16 and Beech Road in Calhoun County.

U.S. 33, Highland Farms Road, Brush Run Road, Gay Road and Lockhart Fork Road, Jackson County.

W.Va. 16 in Ritchie County.

U.S. 33 and W.Va. 36 in Roane County.

Lynn Camp Road in Wirt County.

W.Va. 2 in Tyler County.

Nearly 65,000 potholes on 5,500 miles of road have been repaired since January, the division said.

Pothole patching typically doesn't begin until the first week of April, but state officials worked with asphalt plant owners in St. Albans, Morgantown and Princeton to open early, allowing road crews to make permanent pothole repairs with hot asphalt, the division said. Asphalt plants are beginning to open in other parts of the state now, with the rest expected to open the first week of April.
