Athens County man loses life in auto accident

ATHENS, Ohio — One man was killed Friday night in a traffic accident in Athens County, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
Clayton M. Six, 28, Albany, died on U.S. 33 near Milepost 9 in Dover Township, the patrol said.
According to the patrol, Six’s 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck went off the right side of the road, hit a guardrail, returned to the road and crossed the centerline, went off the left side of the road, struck a bridge parapet and slid on the parapet for 220 feet before coming to rest.
Six was ejected when the truck hit the parapet, the patrol said. He died at the scene and was taken to Moquin Funeral Home, the patrol said.
The accident was reported about 9:45 p.m.
Responding were the Highway Patrol, Athens County Sheriff, Athens County Coroner, Athens County EMS and the Dover township fire department.
The accident remains under investigation, the patrol said.
