PARKERSBURG – A winter weather advisory is in effect for portions of the Mid-Ohio Valley until 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The advisory from the National Weather Service in Charleston warns of possible snow accumulations of 2-4 inches in portions of western West Virginia, southeastern Ohio and northeast Kentucky.

For the Parkersburg area, there is a 60% chance of snow this evening, mainly between 9-11 p.m., with 1-2 inches of snow possible.

The upper end increases to 3 inches for St. Marys and West Union, according to the Weather Service.

Washington County is not included in the advisory, but 1-2 inches of snow is still projected, with an overnight low of 14 and a high on Tuesday of 22.

People around the country are experiencing cold temperatures as a dangerous Arctic blast is expected to linger through at least midweek, the Associated Press reported.
