Snow closes schools throughout region

PARKERSBURG – Multiple school districts around the Mid-Ohio Valley are closed today after another round of snowfall overnight.

* Belpre City Schools.

* Calhoun County Schools.

* Doddridge County Schools.

* Fort Frye Local Schools.

* Frontier Local Schools.

* Jackson County Schools.

* Marietta City Schools.

* Parkersburg Catholic Schools (elementary school, packet #2; high school virtual)

* Pleasants County Schools.

* Ritchie County Schools. This will be a non-traditional instruction day, and students will complete their assignments from home.

* Roane County Schools (non-traditional instruction day).

* Tyler County Schools.

* Warren Local Schools.

* Wetzel County Schools.

* Wirt County Schools. This will be an accrued instructional time day, with no snow packet work. No staff will report and school offices and the board office will be closed.

* Wolf Creek Local Schools.

* Wood County Schools (Code A).

Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks has issued a level 2 snow emergency, meaning roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow.

“Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be on the roadways,” the office said in a Facebook post this morning. “Contact your employer to see if you should report for work.”
