RIPLEY — Seven Jackson County residents have been arrested on charges related to a large-scale fentanyl/Xylazine/heroin conspiracy to deliver case.

Following an investigation and operation in the early months of 2023, the residents have been arrested.

During the investigation, an arrest was made on the suspected source of heroin. After the arrest of the source, it was revealed that there were several individuals conspiring with the source to distribute drugs within the greater Ripley area. The individuals were responsible for numerous overdoses within Jackson County and have contributed to bringing in illegal compounds. This was Jackson County’s first exposure to Xylazine.

Xylazine is a large animal/veterinary based sedative and tranquilizer that is an additive to heroin, much like fentanyl. Xylazine may be added to the heroin in addition to the fentanyl. Unsuspected users can, and do, overdose because of the potency of the dangerous mixtures.

The individuals arrested and charged with conspiracy to deliver heroin include:

* Savvon Primm, 29, no known address.

* JB Hamilton, 53, 1934 Evans Rd., Cottageville.

* Stacy Hyer, 44, 206 Klondike Rd., Ripley.

* Sean Kidd, 41, 11 Cedar Lakes Trailer Park, Ripley.

* Cassandra Roberts, 39, 240 S Church St., Ripley.

* Christopher Pence, 31, no known address.

* Dallas Nuss, 43, 240 S Church St., Ripley.

The individuals have been transported to the South Central Regional Jail with surety bonds following their arrest and are awaiting further court proceedings.
