WALKER – A fire in the 5900 block of Walker Road claimed the life of one individual Tuesday night, Wood County Coroner Mike St. Clair said. He said the body has been sent to the West Virginia State Medical Examiner's office.
Wood County Sheriff Rick Woodyard said they are assisting in an investigation that has been opened by the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office.
The Wood County 911 Center said the fire rekindled this morning at 9:30 a.m. and that the East Wood, Deerwalk and Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Departments were on scene.
