Wrong-way driver causes 3 crashes on U.S. 50
PARKERSBURG – A truck traveling the wrong way on U.S. 50 reportedly caused three accidents Wednesday evening, including a head-on collision.
A Wood County 911 Center supervisor said a red Toyota pickup truck was traveling west in the eastbound lane of the road and caused a rollover near the 21.5 mile marker. About four miles later, near Progress Ridge Road, the truck caused another vehicle to run off the road, he said.
The truck struck another vehicle head-on at the 16.5 mile marker, the supervisor said.
No injuries were reported in the first two accidents, but two emergency medical crews were on the scene of the collision, the supervisor said.
The first call came in around 7:40 p.m.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Department was investigating the incidents Wednesday evening.
