PARKERSBURG -- The Wood County Sheriff's POffice released the following reports on Oct. 16:
* The department from Oct. 9-12 232 calls: 20 Traffic Stops, 24 Speak to complainant by phone and in person, 10 domestic calls and domestic protective orders served, eight traffic accidents, five mental hygiene order/pick up/transport, 19 suspicious person/vehicle/disorderly subject/ vehicle, 12 assist agency/assist motorist/assist subject, eight residence/business/area check, seven disorderly subject/motorist.
Oct. 9
* A deputy responded to New England Ridge Road and Harris Highway for an abandon vehicle that had been left on the side of the road since Oct. 6. The vehicle was parked next to a fire hydrant and blocking view of the intersection, the registration on the vehicle was not coming back to that vehicle. The fraudulent registration plate was removed and the vehicle was towed.
* A traffic stop was conducted and a citation was issued to Brandon Mykel Perdew, 32, of Front Street, Fairmont for speeding 84 in a 65 mph zone.
* A citation was issued to Rain Hazel Orndoff, 22, Ninth Avenue, for reckless driving and no operators.
Oct. 10
* A citation was issued to James Michael Carvell, 61, of DuPont Circle for speeding 90 in a 65 mph zone.
* A citation was issued to Ronald Todd Grimm, 36, of 33rd Street for Speeding 55 in a 40 mph zone.
* A deputy responded to the Blennerhassett Bridge for a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was located on the right shoulder of the eastbound lanes of the bridge, disabled with a flat rear driver side tire. The vehicle was unoccupied and unattended with the doors being locked. The deputy viewed over the bridge rail seeing nothing suspicious. The vehicle was towed as no contact could be made to the owner.
Oct. 11
* Deputies responded to I-77 milemarker 180 for a vehicle accident. Gloria Diaz, 28, of 29th Street was issued a citation for No Operators and Abraham Collazo Santiz, 35, of Clayton Drive, Ripley, was assisting Diaz and was issued a citation for no operators as he had driven to the scene.
* A deputy responded to Harris Highway for a breaking and entering of a large garage. The complainant stated between Oct 9 and 10 someone cut a padlock off the main door and entered the garage. A list of everything taken is being compiled.
* Deputies responded to Staunton Turnpike for a vehicle accident involving a bull. The driver said she crested the hill headed toward Wirt County when a bull stepped into the road and hit the passenger side of her vehicle. The vehicle was towed and no injuries were reported to the driver. The bull had a broken left leg and was bleeding from the mouth. The owner was notified, arrived and made the decision to dispatch the bull, it was loaded into a trailer and transported. Crash report taken.
* A citation was issued to Ivan Alberto Zepeda Mejia, 33, of N. Elm Street, Williamstown, for speeding 83 in a 70 mph zone.
* Deputies responded to Jesterville Road for a vehicle accident. Upon arrival EMS was on scene attempting to remove the driver from the truck. It appears the vehicle was traveling south on Jesterville Road when it went to the left and impaled itself upon the guardrail that entered the cab and pinned the driver's leg. The driver was extracted from the vehicle and taken to CCMC. The vehicle was towed by removing a section of the guardrail. Crash report taken.
* Deputies responded to Meadowview Drive for an eviction with immediate possession of the residence. The deputy made contact with a female who then shut the door and locked it and stated she was home alone. The landlord provided a key at which time the deputies entered with the female loudly attempting to shut the door screaming and becoming disorderly. The mother than exited the residence and was served with the eviction at which time she began gathering some belongings to leave. Carlee Renee Barnhart, 19, of Front Street, Marietta, was arrested on charges of obstructing officer and disorderly conduct. She was transported to the Holding Center for processing, arraigned before a magistrate and released her on a PR bond.
Oct. 12
* Deputies responded to W.Va. 47 where the vehicle was over the embankment. Christopher Eric Carlson, 56, of Dutch Ridge Road was transported to the Holding Center. He was then transported to Camden Clark Medical Center for medical clearance and issued a citation for Aggravated DUI.
* A deputy responded to Southside Self Storage on Gihon Road for a larceny. The complainant said in the last month his storage unit had been broken into and several items taken.
* Deputies responded to Tonya Avenue for a domestic disturbance. The victim/complainant advised he had gotten into a fight with his room-mate and he was head butted with the deputies observing an apparent minor injury to his nose. Brandon Paul Hayes, 33, of Seventh Street was arrested on charges of domestic battery. He was transported to the Holding Center for processing and to await his arraignment.
