VIENNA -- The City of Vienna is seeking public input in two meetings to be held this week.
Prior to the regular scheduled Vienna City Council meeting Thursday, the Vienna Building Commission will hold a public hearing regarding the bond for the Jackson Park pool project. It will start at 5:30 p.m.
Mayor Randy Rapp said the hearing is a time for the public to give feedback regarding the bond on the pool project.
"They can tell (the commission) it's the best thing they've ever heard," he said.
Each person can speak up to five minutes during the meeting.
Council voted on the bond's amount during a special session on Oct. 19. The bond amounted to $3 million with 5.29% interest and is issued through Huntington Bank. The payback period will last 10 years. Rapp said the total payback amount will amount to $3,869,592.14.
Friday, the city will hold a River Life Community Meeting from 4-6 p.m. on Beach Lane, between the former Serenity Cafe and State Farm agent Emily Allman's office. This meeting is weather permitting.
The purpose of the meeting is to "bring together Vienna residents, council members, and river enthusiasts to discuss, review, and expand upon ideas to establish Vienna's presence along the mighty Ohio River," the city announced via flier.
The flier also stated the city has several ideas to develop 12th Street River Lot and Spencer's Landing, such as an amphitheater, boat docks, boat ramps, kayak launch and park development.
The first hour will be a meet and greet and the second will be an open forum with council members.
