The Arnoldsburg Volunteer Fire Department responded Saturday to a structure fire at a remote area off Beech Road in Calhoun County.
The West Virginia State Police are investigating the incident as a murder-suicide after
units responding to the residence found Harvey Haerr deceased from an apparent gunshot wound outside. On Sunday, human remains were located in the debris of the residence by members of the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the West Virginia State Police. The remains are believed to be those of the suspect’s wife, 62-year-old, Elizabeth Haerr.
The Upper West Fork, Clover and Spencer-Roane Volunteer Fire Departments also responded to provide assistance.
