WILLIAMSTOWN -- Country music will fill the grounds of Henderson Hall on Saturday for the inaugural River Road Music Festival.
Slated for 4-10 p.m. with gates opening at 3:30 p.m., the event is intended to raise funds for the historic plantation and house featuring a collection of artifacts from the last 200 years.
There will also be glass-blowing, blacksmithing, stone-carving and other activities often demonstrated at the hall, said Paul Hoblitzell, president of the Oil, Gas and Industrial Historical Association, which owns Henderson Hall.
Musical performers include local country musician Steve Hussey; Micah Kesselring with Appalachian and old country music; Morgan White, three-time Josie Music Award winner for best new country music; Kate Boytek, a Logan County native and country musician; and headliner Sydney Mack, from Nashville.
"Stick around; we'll close at 10 o'clock with 'Country Roads,'" Hoblitzell said
Admission is $35 for the full afternoon and evening. People should bring their own chairs.
Proceeds will benefit Henderson Hall, which Hobliztell said is "a gem for West Virginia and the Ohio Valley." He noted that 90% of the items at the house were bought and used by the Henderson family, rather than replicas or replacements.
"We truly want to make it an eastern United States destination," Hoblitzell said.

3:30 p.m. - Gates open
4 p.m. - Opening ceremony
4:30 p.m. - Steve Hussey
5:15 p.m. - Micah Kesselring
6 p.m. - Morgan White
7:30 p.m. - Kate Boytek
8:30 p.m. - Sydney Mack
9:30 p.m. - Last call and silent auction closes
9:45 p.m. - Closing ceremony
