Wood school board appoints new administrators in schools

PARKERSBURG — New principals and vice principals were approved Tuesday in a special session of the Wood County Board of Education.
Adam Shaffer was named the new principal at Criss Elementary effective today. He was the Emerson Elementary School curriculum and instruction assistant principal.
Stephanie Agee will be the new principal at Franklin Elementary effective today. She was the Lubeck/Neale assistant principal.
Timothy Collins was named the new principal at Lubeck Elementary effective Aug. 1. The start date is due to Amber Hardman, current Lubeck Principal, holding the position until she transfers to director of federal programs as approved by the board on June 27.
Victoria M. Dixon was appointed the new assistant principal at Williamstown Elementary School effective July 31. Dixon will join LeeAnn Cumpston who was appointed principal by the board on June 27.
Michael Scott Miller, a Parkersburg South High social studies teacher, was appointed the new assistant principal at Parkersburg High effective July 24.
“Welcome to all of you, and good luck for this year. It’s an exciting time,” Board member Judy Johnson said. “We’re looking forward to a great year, you will, too. You’re going to have a great year.”
Board President Justin Raber congratulated everyone for moving forward in their careers as administrators and also wished them luck in the coming year.
“I hope you have a wonderful year,” Raber said.
The next regular meeting of the Board of Education will be 5 p.m. July 25 at the board offices, Plum and 13th streets in Parkersburg. The meeting is open to the public and will be streamed online.

The Wood County Board of Education on Tuesday approved:
* Payment to Murray Sheet Metal Co. of $1,410,623.10 for the Edison Middle School HVAC renovations.
* Payments to Phoenix Associates of $84,576.68 for the refrigeration warehouse repairs, of $279,019.16 for the refrigeration warehouse repairs and of $230,429.05 for the Refrigeration Warehouse Repairs.
* The Mountain State ESC and the Wood County Board of Education Medicaid Contract Agreement for $15,000 for Medicaid services for fiscal year 2024.
* Payment of $220,747.50 to Casto Technical Services for the Parkersburg High School HVAC renovations
* A contract with Kelly Paving for 2023 paving projects
* Alliance Therapy, Occupational Therapist, to provide occupational therapy services to Wood County Schools with a maximum of $32,000 through Oct. 13.
* Audiology Services of West Virginia to provide audiology services starting Aug. 17 and ending May 30 with a maximum expenditure of $10,000
* A contract with Betsy Tipper, physical therapy assistant, to provide physical therapy services for the 2023-2024 school year with a maximum expenditure of $50,000.
* A contract with Carol Radar, certified speech language pathologist, for the 2023-2024 school year with a maximum expenditure of $55,000.
* A contract with Hannah Clegg, MOT, OTR/L, occupational therapist, for the 2023-2024 school year with a maximum expenditure of $115,000.
* A contract with Heather Bloss, physical therapist assistant, to provide physical therapy services for the 2023-2024 school year with a maximum expenditure of $75,000.
* A contract with InMotion Physical Therapy and Golf Fitness commencing Aug. 17 to provide 185 days and an additional six-weeks for Extended School Year to provide physical therapy services at a rate of $21 per quarter hour.
* A contract with Lauren Morris, LMM OT, LLC, certified occupational therapist, to provide occupational therapy services for the 2023-2024 school year at a maximum expenditure of $115,000.
* A contract with Hannah Williamson, Occupational Therapist, dba MW Therapy Services, LLC, for the 2023-2024 school year with a maximum expenditure of $115,000.
