PARKERSBURG -- The Artsbridge Summer Music Series today at City Park will feature two concerts for the same low price, free.
Taking the stage from 6-7 p.m. at the bandshell is will be Country Best in Class. That show will be followed from 7:30-8:30 p.m. by the local favorites Insured Sound.
The concerts were made possible by CFI Engineering Inc. and Sir Speedy.
The Country Best in Class features a tribute to country and western legends Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty and Johnny Cash by local musicians Sherry Wilson Braid, Reinnie Leavitt, Tim Wilson and Dave Roberts. Each of the performers have spent years perfecting their craft and entertaining people through live shows, theatrical features and gospel performances.
The original concert had to be canceled due to the weather, but Artsbridge wanted to make it possible for the group to share its tribute with the Mid-Ohio Valley this summer, rain or shine.
Insured Sound was established in 1975 by drummer Dave Piatt. Since then, Insured Sound has provided first-class entertainment to audiences across West Virginia and Ohio. Its repertoire includes Frank Sinatra, classic ballads, Motown, The Eagles and popular dance oldies, among others.
The concert in the event of rain will be moved to the horseshoe pit.
Printed paper schedules are available at the Artsbridge tent. The audience can take advantage of the available food vendors during the 30-minute break between acts.
Artsbridge also will pass donation buckets during the performances to collect donations to support the program.
Lawn chairs are recommended.
