Parkersburg task force search warrants net four arrests

PARKERSBURG -- The Parkersburg Violent Crimes and Narcotics Task Force seized fentanyl and methamphetamine during the execution of two search warrants Thursday and Friday.
According to a release from the Task Force, approximately 65 grams of suspected fentanyl, 9 grams of suspected methamphetamine and amounts of marijuana and suboxone were recovered at 915 15th St. in a Friday morning search, which was conducted with assistance from the Parkersburg Police Department S.W.A.T. Team.
A .22-caliber revolver was also seized.
David L. Caplinger, 50, of Parkersburg, was arrested on charges of possession of fentanyl with intent to deliver, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and prohibited person possessing a firearm. He was arraigned before Wood County Magistrate Brenda Marshall, who set a $125,000 surety bond.
On Thursday, the Task Force executed a search warrant in Mineral Wells after U.S. Marshals arrested Aaron Ramone Williams, 45, of Parkersburg, there on an outstanding capias warrant from Wood County Circuit Court in regard to a previous drug investigation, according to a release from the Task Force.
During the search, agents seized approximately 39 grams of suspected fentanyl and 24 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Charges against Williams in relation to those drugs are pending, the release said.
Two women in the residence were taken into custody on outstanding shoplifting warrants.
Julie Nichole Fields, 29, of Parkersburg, was arraigned by Magistrate Jody Purkey and released on a personal recognizance bond, while Sherri Lynn Fields, 53, of Parkersburg, was arraigned by Magistrate Joe Kuhl and released on a $2,500 personal recognizance bond.
Williams was held without bond pending a hearing before a circuit court judge.
The Parkersburg Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force is made up of investigators from the Parkersburg Police Department, Wood County Sheriff's Department, Vienna Police Department, Williamstown Police Department and the West Virginia State Police.
