CHARLESTON -- A Wood County woman is among the six deaths from the COVID-19 coronavirus in the last week, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported in its weekly update on Wednesday.
The state has confirmed the death of a 78-year-old woman from Wood County and a 97-year-old man from Taylor County, a 91-year-old woman from Fayette County, an 87-year-old woman female from Barbour County, a 69-year-old man from Kanawha County and a 92-year-old woman from Mercer County.
Deaths since the pandemic started three years ago were at 8,011 as of Wednesday in West Virginia.
The state reported 145 people were in the hospital in West Virginia with COVID-19 complications. Twenty were in an intensive care unit and 10 were on a ventilator.
