MARIETTA -- One man was killed Thursday afternoon in a UTV accident near Churchtown, the Ohio State Highway Patrol Marietta Post said.
Stephen Jenkins, 23, last known address New Matamoras, was killed after his 2014 Polaris Ranger went off the left side of the road and overturned, the patrol said. The accident happened shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Township 181, also known as Pottmeyer Road, the patrol said.
The cause of the crash is unknown, the patrol said.
Jenkins was taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Responding to the accident where the patrol, the Washington County Sheriff, the Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department, Warren Volunteer Fire Department, Watertown Volunteer Fire Department, Washington County Sheriff's Office and Pine Tree Towing.
The crash remains under investigation by the Marietta Post. Alcohol is not suspected to be a contributing crash factor, the patrol said.
