Washington County Grand Jury hears sexual, drug offense cases

Creating and sharing sexual content involving minors, arson and drug offenses were among the indictments by a grand jury against 18 defendants Tuesday in Washington County Common Pleas Court.

They were:

¯ Charles Earl Kelly, 75, 38 Radabaugh Road, Marietta: pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person and possession of marijuana. Kelly allegedly developed and created content depicting minor girls performing sexual acts on Dec. 7, 2021, at his residence on Radabaugh Road.

¯ Eric Lee Touvell, 40, Marietta: arson, domestic violence, intimidation of attorney, victim or witness in a criminal case and menacing. Touvell allegedly intentionally set a fire in Marietta on March 4 and caused more than $1,000 in damage. A household member believed Touvell would cause her harm or damage her property and he allegedly intended to harm her. He also made threats against someone if they pressed charges, according to court documents.

¯ Shawn Allen Gates Jr., 24, 132 W. Crosier St., Akron, last known address: aggravated drug trafficking, aggravation possession and possession of a fentanyl-related compound after he was arrested on Nov. 25, 2022, on Fourth Street in Marietta.

¯ Kenneth Walker, 49, 2050 Guildhall Drive, Apt. A, Columbus: trafficking a fentanyl-related compound, possession of a fentanyl-related compound, aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs after an alleged drug sale took place March 10 at Second Street near Marion Street in Marietta,

¯ Co-defendants Destiny Renee Barker, 21, 4301 10th Ave., Parkersburg, and Jesse Clinton Farmer, 26, 117 Dean St., Marietta: burglary, grand theft when property is a firearm and theft after they allegedly broke into a residence on Maple Shade Drive in Marietta on Aug. 22, 2022, and stole an AR pistol, among other items.

¯ Richard W. Hawkins, 53, 136 Franklin St., Marietta: two counts of possession of heroin after he was arrested on Dec. 19, 2021, on Pike Street in Marietta.

¯ Co-defendants Richard Lloyd Eldon Anderson Jr., 43, 218 Broughton Ave., Marietta, and Kaylan Renea Wallace, 32, 350 Land Farm Road, Marietta; aggravated possession of drugs and Wallace also was indicted for possession of a fentanyl-related compound. The two were arrested April 1, 2022, at 700 Pike St. in Marietta.

¯ Dillon Devon Rogers, 29, 1210 Crestview Ave., Akron: aggravated drug trafficking and aggravated possession of drugs after an alleged drug transaction on Feb. 13 near the 16th and 17th mile marker along I-77 in Macksburg.

¯ Sidney J. Walker Jr., 49, 2999 Continental Colony Parkway, Apt. 312, Atlanta, Ga.: three counts of trafficking a fentanyl-related compound, two counts of possession of a fentanyl-related compound and one count of possession of cocaine after three separate occasions on March 3, 2022, March 1, 2022, and Dec. 17, 2021, at two locations at 700 Pike St., Room 437, Marietta and 836 Fourth St., Marietta.

¯ Co-defendants Lori Beth Turner, 48, 1230 E. Long St., last known address, Nino Armando Valdes, 30, 3503 Petzinger Road, and Nathaniel Lee, 39, 1598 Harvard Ave., all of Columbus: four counts of counterfeiting and one count of possession of criminal tools. They were arrested on Feb. 27 at 701 Pike St. Room 107 in Marietta. They had possession of an HP printer which they allegedly used with criminal intent.

¯ James Tyshawn Carwell III, 24, 505 Ruffner Ave., Charleston: failure to comply with an order or a signal of a police officer. He allegedly attempted to evade an officer on Feb. 28 near I-77 mile marker 6 after a visible and audible signal to pull over.

¯ Donta Barnell Borden, 44, no address provided, two counts of aggravated drug trafficking, two counts of aggravated drug possession, one count of possession of cocaine and one count of trafficking cocaine. An alleged drug sale took place Sept. 9-10, 2022, at 2346 Sealy Road in Vincent.

¯ Joshua Wade Kerns, 40, 48 Dixie Drive, Sandyville: unauthorized use of a vehicle and receiving stolen property after he allegedly operated and stole a vehicle on Feb. 16 at 335 Second St. in Marietta.

¯ Russell Allen McCabe, 55. 141 Franklin St., Marietta: improperly handling a firearm in a vehicle following his arrest on April 18, 2022, in Marietta.
