RAVENSWOOD — The investigation into the disappearance of Gretchen Fleming extended into Jackson County on Thursday, but Parkersburg Police Chief Matthew Board said there were no new developments to release.

“The investigation is continuing, and it’s not uncommon that our detectives are out in the field, following up on leads,” he said.

Officials from Parkersburg and the Ravenswood Police Department were seen at a water tank in Ravenswood on Thursday morning. Board said he could not comment on any specifics.

“This is one of many leads that have been followed up on. There’s nothing new to report,” he said.

Fleming, 28, of Vienna, was reported missing by her family on Dec. 12 and has not been seen since the early morning hours of Dec. 4, when she was seen on video leaving the My Way Lounge in downtown Parkersburg with a male police have said is a person of interest in the case. The individual, who has not been charged and whose name has not been released by law enforcement, initially told investigators Fleming had been in his vehicle but got out before he returned to his residence, Board has said.

The person of interest is no longer communicating with police, the chief said.

A search warrant was executed at the person of interest’s residence and a secondary location the week Fleming was reported missing. Police returned to one of those locations Wednesday, Board said.

Last week, Parkersburg Police released images of the person of interest’s vehicle, a dark-colored Nissan Rogue with Darth Vader decals on the back windows.

Police continue to encourage people who may have information about the case to contact lead Detective James Zimmerman at 304-424-1072 or the Police Department at 304-424-8444.

Starting at $2.99/week.
