PARKERSBURG -- The Parkersburg Police Department is investigating the report of a missing Vienna woman.
According to Chief Matthew Board, Gretchen Fleming, 27, of Vienna, was reported missing by family members on Dec. 12 who said they hadn't had contact with her since Dec. 3.
"The last physical location we know Gretchen was at was the My Way Lounge in the evening hours of Dec. 3 into the morning hours of Dec. 4," Board said.
Board said detectives have worked around the clock since the Dec. 12 report was made to gather as much information as quickly as possible to the wellbeing of Fleming and locating her. Board said he greatly appreciated the abundance of tips the community has given the department and that those tips have helped tremendously to move the investigation forward.
"I would like for people to continue to do that if they think they know anything. Whether it be big, little, or indifferent, I don't want them to hesitate to reach out to us because it has been very beneficial," Board said.
"And then through the diligent effort of our detective bureau, and the department as a whole, working together has culminated in the search warrants being obtained."
Board said various search warrants were served at a couple locations but couldn't comment on those locations or the type of information the warrants produced. He said if any members of the public were around the area of the My Way Lounge on the night of Dec. 3 and might have seen something, or know anything, or might have information they think is pertinent to the case, to contact Detective James Zimmerman at 304-424-1072, or contact the after hours number at 304-424-8444.
"The community has really stepped up in regards to contacting us with tips and really rallying around the circumstance to help find Gretchen," Board said. "The Parkersburg Police Department greatly appreciates that because it does assist with the investigation. And the detectives are working around the clock to try and find Gretchen as expeditiously as possible."
