Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — The following cases were handled in Wood County Magistrate Court on Nov. 2:
* Christopher Allen Johnson, 2026 10th Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded no contest to speed limitations and fined $195.25.
* Timothy Allen Simmons, 824 Lakeview Dr., Apt 112 C, Parkersburg, was arraigned on 17 counts of violation of a protective order and released on $17,000 bond.
* Eric Shane Vest, 1003 13th Ave. Apt. 6, Vienna, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and released on $500 bond.
* Roland Roy Nicholson, 1859 Shiloh Springs Road, Trotwood, Ohio, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and released on $500 bond.
* Howard Nelson Merritt, 1725 Latrobe St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of third-offense shoplifting and held on $5,000 bond.
* Andrew James Caplinger, 2201 Beverly St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of petit larceny, a capias for petit larceny and a capias for shoplifting and held on $4,500 bond.
* Jeffrey Dean Joseph, 610 Elder St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of worthless check and violating a protective order and released on $1,000 bond.
* Kenneth Allen Hutson Jr., Parkersburg, had a preliminary hearing waived on three counts of third-offense failure to register as a sex offender. The case was sent to Wood County Circuit Court.
* Justin Wayne Fore, 1658 Pansy Dr., Charleston, had a preliminary hearing waived on a charge of false pretense. The case was sent to Wood County Circuit Court.
* Jonathan Mark Thomas, 730 29th St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to violation of a protective order, fined $420.25 and sentenced to six days in jail which has been ruled as being time served. He also pleaded guilty to another charge of violating a protective order and sentenced to 30 days in jail which was suspended and he was placed on one year of unsupervised probation with six days credited for time served. Another two counts of violating a protective order were dismissed.
* Paige Marnece Price, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and fined $180.25. She was ordered to pay a $88 civil penalty paid to the Plato’s Closet store in Parkersburg.
* Casey Blair Middleton, 1309 Rayon Dr., Parkersburg, had a preliminary hearing waived on a charge of first-degree arson. The case was sent to Wood County Circuit Court.
* Jason Robert Rutherford, 121 Joy St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to possession of meth, fined $195.25 and sentenced to 90 days in jail which was suspended and he was placed on one year of unsupervised probation.
* Burton James Garnes, Evans, WV, pleaded guilty to two counts of operating a vehicle without an inspection certificate and fined $175.25. He had charges of having no proof of insurance, improper registration and driving on a suspended license dismissed.
* Charles Preston Stephens, 78 Nut Hatch Lane, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to possessing a controlled substance without a valid prescription, fined $190.25 and sentenced to 90 days in jail which was suspended and he was placed on six months of unsupervised probation. Two counts of possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription were dismissed.
* Sheldon Alan Byers, 2606 17th Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to having no insurance and improper passing and fined $550.50.
* Zoie Bekelle Allman, 911 34th St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to obstruction and vehicle approaching or entering intersection and fined $395.50. Allman had a charge of driving a vehicle without the required security dismissed.
* Isaiah Quenton Mitchell, 1819 Meathouse Fork Rd., Ravenswood, pleaded guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a child, fined $180.25 and sentenced to 60 days in jail and placed on one year of unsupervised probation. He was also ordered to do 100 hours of community service.
* Daniel Ray Hickman 1002 E. 12th St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to second-offense driving on a suspended license and fined $370.25.
* Justin Michael Barker, 822 Grafton St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to destruction of property, fined $170.25 and sentenced to 60 days in jail which was suspended and he was placed on one year of unsupervised probation.
* Randall Paul West, 706 Pike St. Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to driving on a suspended license and having no registration and fined $550.50. He had charge of possessing a controlled substance without a valid prescription and having no insurance dismissed.
