PARKERSBURG -- Two men charged with murder and other counts under sealed indictments were arrested Monday by Parkersburg Police.
George Justin Smith, aka Justin Keel, 21, of Columbus, and Donovan Tyler McCune, 23, of Parkersburg, are accused in the May 17 shooting death of Terrance Mills Jr., 26, of Parkersburg.
Police at the time said a Vienna woman contacted Mills to arrange a drug transaction as a pretense for two male suspects to rob him.
A release from Parkersburg Police Chief Matthew Board said Smith and McCune were indicted by the September term of the Wood County Grand Jury on charges of murder, first-degree robbery, presentation of a firearm during the commission of a felony, wanton endangerment with a firearm and conspiracy to commit a felony
Neither was listed among the 92 individuals in a Sept. 16 release announcing the indictments. Wood County Prosecutor Pat Lefebure confirmed Monday evening that the indictments had been sealed because neither suspect was in custody.
According to the release from Board, McCune was served with the indictment Monday while at Wood County Magistrate Court on an unrelated matter. Detectives located and arrested Smith without incident Monday evening.
Both are being held without bond pending arraignments in Wood County Circuit Court.
Mills died after suffering a single gunshot wound to the chest May 17 and being found by police in the 1400 block of Covert Street.
Dezaray Lynn Roberts, 22, of Vienna, was arrested the next day after being identified following witness videos and a review of security camera footage.
According to a criminal complaint filed in magstrate court, Roberts told investigators she contacted Mills to set up a drug transaction, with two male suspects planning to rob him and split the money with her.
Roberts sat in her vehicle, a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, while the men waited outside for the victim, according to the complaint. Roberts said she heard shouting and gunshots, then fled the scene after the men got into the Jeep.
