WASHINGTON BOTTOM -- Representatives of the PM Company met Wednesday with Washington Bottom residents concerned over the company’s development under construction in their area.
Approximately 100 people gathered in the sanctuary of Washington United Methodist Church, which is next to the 29-acre property on DuPont Road where the company has cleared land and is putting in a retention pond and new road.
One parcel is already under contract for a “light industrial business” to purchase, said Jared Decker, real estate director for PMC.
“We’re here because it has come to our attention that our project and our work in your community is causing some heartburn and concern,” he said.
Residents of the McPherson Manor and Walnut Grove subdivisions and other parts of the area raised issues ranging from safety and noise to the loss of trees and the rural atmosphere they value.
