Parkersburg man charged with wanton endangerment
VIENNA — The Vienna Police Department is investigating an incident which occurred Wednesday involving a traffic dispute which resulted in one person pulling a firearm on another.
Vienna Police, in a press release, issued Thursday reported responding to the south Grand Central Mall access road at approximately 7:41 p.m. Wednesday.
Vienna Police were dispatched to the area between Olive Garden and Qdoba to a possible domestic incident where a male and female were screaming at each other. Further information came in to 911 stating that the male had struck the female, had a firearm, and left in a vehicle, the press release said.
Vienna Police arrived on scene and identified the female victim. Several eyewitnesses provided information.
The investigation revealed that the drivers from two vehicles had stopped in the roadway (south Mall exit) disputing actions of the opposing drivers. A physical altercation ensued. During the altercation, the male suspect, later identified as Mason M. Price, 33, of Parkersburg, allegedly produced a pistol and pointed it at the female victim.
From information gathered at the scene, Vienna Police were able to develop suspect information and a possible location. Ultimately, Vienna Police obtained a felony warrant for wanton endangerment involving a firearm on Price.
Price was then taken into custody without incident from a residence in Parkersburg, the press release said.
Price was processed at the Vienna Police Department and then lodged at the Wood County Holding Center. On Thursday, Price was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court on the felony charge of wanton endangerment and released after posting a $10,000 bond.
If convicted, Price faces not less than one nor more than five years in a correctional facility.
Vienna Police reminds people that those listed in police reports accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
