PARKERSBURG -- The Wood County Board of Education will meet in regular session Tuesday, July 19, to receive updates on policies, approve hires, and approve schedules for the upcoming school year.
The board will receive reports on targeted assistance positions at Title I schools, policies on signing bonuses for special education positions, employee uniforms (policy to provide an annual safety shoe reimbursement for mechanics and maintenance employees), and a schedule of Open House events.
The board is also expected to approve the creation of two teaching positions at Blennerhassett Elementary, a fourth and fifth grade position, and the possible appointment of a new Director of Elementary Education.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Wood County Schools Central Office at 1210 13th St, in Parkersburg. The meeting is open to the public and will be streamed online.
