Power being restored from storm outages

PARKERSBURG — A total of 261 Wood County residents are still without power Thursday afternoon after a severe storm moved through the area Wednesday night.
Of those, 260 are located in Parkersburg.
According to Will Boye of FirstEnergy, wind and rain from the storm brought down trees and branches onto wires and equipment. The storm knocked out power to 7,000 residence across West Virginia. That number is down to 2,700 as of Thursday afternoon.
Crews are restoring power as quickly and safely as possible and the estimated time of restoration for the majority of affected residence is 11 p.m. today, Boye said.
