Two Mid-Ohio Valley projects receive funding

CHARLESTON -- Two projects in the region will receive funding through the West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council.

The council announced funding for eight sewer and water system improvements and an economic development project on April 6.

Local projects receiving funds will be:

* Pleasants County Public Service District

The council approved an $310,000 grant to the Pleasants County Public Service District to extend water service to Plum Road. The grant fully funds the project.

* Town of Elizabeth

The council approved a $880,000 grant and a $880,000 loan to the Town of Elizabeth in Wirt County to improve its water system. The grant and loan fully funds the project.
