PARKERSBURG -- Two Parkersburg men are in custody after separate stabbing and strangulation incidents.

Michael Allen Holton, 30, 1022 Lakeview Drive Apt. A, Parkersburg, was recently arrested for allegedly stabbing a man and puncturing his lung on March 29, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Wood County Magistrate Court.

Holton and another man were walking near Willard Street in Parkersburg when they threw something away in the victim's trash can, the complaint said.

The victim told them it wasn't a public trash can and the two men threatened to beat him up. In the complaint, the victim described a "stick" in his back while Holton was behind him.

After he was knocked down to his hands and knees, the complaint said the victim felt two more "sticks" in his back and was kicked in the face, "causing him to almost lose consciousness."

After the two men walked away, the victim was taken to the hospital because he had lost a "significant" amount of blood and "it was discovered that the victim also suffered a punctured lung from the stabbing. The victim had a chest tube inserted and was hospitalized for approximately six days," the complaint said.

Holton was charged with malicious wounding and is being held at North Central Regional Jail on a $75,000 surety bond.

Trenton Andrew Kelley, 23, 72 Forest Drive, Parkersburg, went to the West Virginia State Police detachment for Parkersburg to turn himself in after he admitted to choking a female family member, according to a criminal complaint.

Kelley said he and the victim were screaming at each other and when he tried to get away from her, she followed him and he "punched her in the left side of the face," the complaint said.

He then put her in a choke hold from behind and held her there for about 10 seconds. The complaint said after he released her, he walked to the State Police.

Officers checked on the victim and noticed she had sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital, the complaint said.

"(The victim) stated that she was choked out by Mr. Kelley and that she passed out as a result of his actions," the complaint said.

Kelley was charged with strangulation and is being held at North Central Regional Jail on a $25,000 surety bond.
